Karen earned a BA in Theater Arts from Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, and has directed more than 100 shows in the last 40 years. She has taught drama at a variety of schools and conservatories including San Carlos Charter Learning Center, Portola Valley Theatre Conservatory, Hillbarn Theater, Ralston Middle School and Fiesta Gardens International Elementary School, among others.
She directed Deathtrap, Holes, Defying Gravity and
The Secret Garden for Hillbarn's Mainstage and Misery for Coastal Repertory Theater. Karen wrote SF Ghost Plays which was performed at the Magic Theater in San Francisco in 2017. For 15 years, she was co-producer and director for NDNU's Theater Festival. In addition to theater, Karen is also a freelance photographer.
