2019: Unity and Inclusion
"Star Seed"
A poetic narrative of three seeds of our existence-- breath, minds and voices--unifying us across our differences. A beautiful dance production with representation from our local BIPOC, LBGTQ and disabled communities. Key Artists: Coleen Lorenz and 20 artists, eleven from marginalized communities. An audience of 600 attended three performances at the Canada College Theater
There were two accompanying workshop series: one with dancers performing pieces and audience members creating art, and the other using art and movement therapy to provide tools for therapists working with marginalized communities.
“Star Seed’s artistry was eye opening and incredible! The visuals, choreography, poetic words, and vocals were woven together seamlessly.”
-- Scott Klein, Software Engineer

What If . . .
We are all star seeds born of the cosmos
Planted here in six degrees of separation
race
gender
sexual preference
culture
identity
age
class
religion
Each with our own unique dance of contrast and reckoning
What If . . .
We are the keepers of three powerful seeds:
Our breath, Our mind, Our voice
