Bringing new tools and new ideas to AUM!

Winter 2024: AUM performed PASSAGES, a 60-minute dance story about one woman’s journey as she unravels emotional threads of her ancestral lineage, faces the fears of illness and mortality, and discovers the beauty, resilience, and strength of her own soul. The success of this production revealed an overarching message that we all share in common . . . inside each and every one of us is a wellspring of strength, beauty, endurance, and love that can flow through us if we choose to allow it in.

Winter 2024 - Fall 2025: AUM embarked on designing new workshops and educational programs for individuals and groups following the "common thread" we all share from the dance story PASSAGES. AUM developed a unique set of tools that directly tap into the creative wellspring living inside each of us, and naturally bring forth connection, authentic self expression, balance within our nervous system and positive change. Our new model for workshops is ready to launch and generating well-being through creativity, expression, and play is our goal! Our services support all ages and a wide variety of needs within our community.

We combine mindful movement, expressive dance, drama, improvisation, art, and storytelling in ways that directly access creativity, self-expression, and imagination. At the same time, our unique approach to wellness generates focus, feelings of safety, and helps to balance and regulate the nervous system naturally.

Spring 2025: AUM's pilot workshop (combining these new expressive tools), called Move Your Body - Open Your Heart - Express Yourself! received positive response from its participants. Participants mentioned interest in offering it again on a larger scale, as well as participating in a new workshop called, The Masks We Wear: A journey into uncovering, revealing, and healing our different “personas" in life. AUM will be offering one or both of these workshops in the summer.  

Planned For 2026: AUM continues to use its arts program funding to produce another NewGround Theatre Dance Company Production. This live stage performance will be a full-length story combining contemporary, modern, jazz, and urban styles of dance, music, media, theater, aerial artistry, and spoken word. Stay tuned for more about the original story concept being developed for 2026.
